Eviction drive: Actor Darshan to get notice shortly

Bengaluru: The Bengaluru District administration has decided to issue notices to 69 property owners, including Kannada actor Darshan and former minister Shamanur Shivashankarappa to clear the encroachment of government land.

The district administration has also decided to file criminal cases against the Bengaluru Development Authority (BDA) and Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) officials for helping these property owners, especially the developers of Ideal Homes Layout, to encroach storm water drain in Raja Rajeswari Nagar zone in the city.

The district administration is expected to issue notices to the property owners who have encroached the storm water drain to clear the encroachments on their own within a week. The district administration would take seven acres and 31 guntas of land, including Darshan’s house at the Ideal Homes Layout and R Chennabadsappa Hospital n Raja Rajeswari Nagar, under its control.
