Initially, on Monday, the court had ordered Prajwal Revanna to judicial custody until July 8. However, he was later transferred to SIT custody until June 29 after the police, through the Special Public Prosecutor (SPP), requested a body warrant.

Revanna, 33, the grandson of former Prime Minister H D Deve Gowda, is facing four separate charges currently being investigated by the SIT. His attempt to retain the Hassan constituency in the recent Lok Sabha elections had been unsuccessful.

The allegations of sexual abuse surfaced following the circulation of pen drives containing explicit videos purportedly featuring Prajwal Revanna in Hassan, just before the Lok Sabha elections on April 26. In response to these allegations, JD(S) suspended him from the party following the registration of the cases.
