Bengaluru: Former minister Anand Asnotikar is likely to return to the political arena after remaining inactive in politics since 2013. The minister is expected to join Janata Dal (S) and contest on its ticket.
According to sources, Anand Asnotikar who was extended an invitation to join the party through party district unit President B R Naikhas has started consultation with his supporters and is yet to announce his political decision.
“His well wishers and fan association which are very active across the constituency want him to contest the election,”said sources.
With the Congress likely to field incumbent MLA Satish Sail from the constituency, both JDS and BJP are trying for strong candidates.
Interestingly, Anand’s mother Shubalatha Asnotikar remains active in BJP activities. Shubalatha Asnotikar has stated that her son will announce his political decision on November 12.
