Bengaluru: The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) which was launched when Siddaramaiah was the Chief Minister is now actively busy tracing the corruption in various government agencies and raiding the corrupt officials. However, many anti-social elements are misusing the name of the ACB to extort money.
ACB ADGP Seemanth Kumar Singh informed that ACB has filed 26 FIRs in connection with extorting the officials in the name of ACB. He also added that chargesheet has been filed in six cases.
“20 cases are at the investigation stage. These FIRs are registered based on the complaints by government employees,” he informed.
He requested the public, and government employees to alert the ACB in the event of any effort to extort money in the name of ACB.
