Thekkatte: A youth has fallen into police net for clicking pictures of lovers in parks in Bengaluru and then blackmailing them to eke out gold and other belonging, in the guise of a policeman.
The arrested is Thekkatte Ganesh Mogaveera (29) and Lakshman (43). While Ganesh extorted gold from gullible women showing them pictures of them along with their lovers, Lakshman bought the gold ornaments thus procured by Ganesh.
Ganesh, who was arrested in Hattiyangadi chain snatching case, had gone to Bengaluru to make a new start. He was working in a hotel, but it was later learnt that during the break, he used to go to parks in the city and execute his ‘Plan B’ to make some extra ‘moolah’.
The police confiscated jewellery worth Rs 9 lac and over 30 sim cards from him.
It is said that in just one year, the accused had blackmailed over 11 women from Jayanagar, Banshankari, Basavanagudi areas.
Ganesh has two wives and three children.
