Bengaluru: Without giving any test samples, a man here received an SMS claiming that his and his son’s Covid samples had been sent to a lab for testing. Ignatius Rodrigues, a Thanisandra resident, received two messages from a lab on June 15 at 10.50 pm, stating that his and his son Kenneth Rodrigues’ samples had been collected and sent it to a lab for the Covid test.

The message further said that the samples have been sent to a private lab in Bengaluru. “You are advised to isolate yourself till the sample is tested and the test report is provided by the Lab,” it added.

Ignatius then wrote to the Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP), requesting an investigation and action against the lab for sending such a message.

Speaking to NewsKarnataka Ignatius said, “BBMP responded to my request. They have requested more information to ensure that I have not given or that our samples have not been taken recently. I will respond based on whatever information I can provide.”
