File disposal week: Revenue department to function today!

Bengaluru: One of the common allegations against the state government officers is that they don’t work as per the expectations of the general public. Even though the state government introduced the Sakala scheme to ensure that services are extended to the people within the stipulated period, nothing much seems to have improved. However, in a bid to improve efficiency, all the revenue department offices of the state will remain open on Sunday, November 18.

Following rampant complaints that huge numbers of files are held up in the revenue department, revenue minister R V Deshpande has launched the file disposal week. As part of this initiative, all the revenue department offices will open on Sunday and officers have been directed to clear all the pending files.

“I want zero number of files held up in the department. So I want my officers to work this Sunday. I want zero complaints with regard to the pendency of files,” said R V Deshpande.
