An FIR has been lodged at Hennur Police Station against Muniraju Reddy, the owner of a six-story building that collapsed in Babu Sa Palya, Bengaluru. The building was under scrutiny after it was discovered that Reddy constructed a seven-story structure despite only having permission for a four-story building. This significant oversight, coupled with allegations of poor quality construction work, has led to legal action.

The FIR cites violations of building regulations, raising serious concerns about safety standards in the construction industry. Local authorities are now focusing on holding those responsible accountable while ensuring the safety of similar structures in the area.

Rescue operations at the site of the collapse are still in progress. There are concerns that three additional individuals may still be trapped under the rubble, prompting urgent search efforts. East Division DCP Devaraju has reported that teams are employing gas cutters to navigate through the debris, carefully cutting through beams and iron rods to reach potential survivors.

So far, rescuers have successfully saved 13 individuals from the wreckage. Unfortunately, the operation has also resulted in the recovery of five bodies, underscoring the tragic consequences of the incident.

Four injured individuals are currently receiving treatment at North Hospital, while another injured person is being treated at a different facility. The ongoing rescue and recovery efforts highlight the urgency of the situation, as authorities work diligently to locate any remaining victims.

The collapse of the building has raised alarm among local residents and authorities regarding construction practices in Bengaluru. There is an urgent need to review safety protocols and enforce strict adherence to building regulations to prevent such tragedies in the future.

As investigations proceed, the focus remains on ensuring that accountability is upheld and that necessary measures are taken to improve construction safety standards in the region. The community is closely watching the developments, hoping for swift action to prevent similar incidents.

The FIR against Muniraju Reddy is a crucial step in addressing the issues surrounding the Babu Sa Palya building collapse. As rescue efforts continue and investigations unfold, the focus on safety and regulation compliance in Bengaluru’s construction sector has never been more critical.
