Expired food and poor storage found
The inspection reportedly found violations including storage of food beyond its expiry date and inadequate storage practices.
At The Lalit Ashok (South Annexe), officials seized and destroyed 76 kg of meat, 200 kg of vegetables and 32 litres of expired milk.
The action also covered several other prominent hotels. Officials seized 15 kg of meat at Shangri-La, while 19 kg of meat was seized at Four Seasons.
At Vivanta Whitefield, three kg of expired bakery products were destroyed.
Meat and fish seized from hotels

The Radisson Blu (The Atria) Hotel saw the seizure of 50 kg of chicken, 25 kg of meat, 23 kg of fish and seven kg of vegetables.
The FSDA’s action comes shortly after the department intensified its food safety checks in Bengaluru, including a crackdown on the sale of junk food around schools and colleges.
Food safety checks intensified
The inspections underline the importance of proper food storage, expiry-date monitoring and safe handling practices even at high-end establishments.
The latest action is part of wider efforts by the food safety authorities to ensure that food served to consumers meets prescribed safety standards.
