The Renukaswamy murder case, which has recently seen actor Darshan Thoogudeepa‘s arrest, has taken a significant turn with the receipt of a partial report from the Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL). The report, which confirms matching fingerprints of ten accused at the crime scene and on the murder weapons, has intensified the scrutiny on the 47-year-old actor, who has been in Bengaluru Central Prison since June 22.
Key Findings of the Forensic Report
According to the forensic report, the fingerprints collected from the crime scene, the murder weapons, and a vehicle used to dispose of the victim’s body have matched those of the ten accused. Additionally, the report has identified blood stains from the victim on the clothes of six primary accused. The clothing, footwear, and leather items worn by these accused at the time of the incident were recovered from their residences following their arrests.
City Police Commissioner B Dayananda held a meeting with investigators late on Monday evening after receiving the email copy of the report. The report’s findings are expected to complicate matters for Darshan Thoogudeepa, who faces mounting evidence against him.
Incomplete Report and Further Analysis
It is important to note that the report received is not final. The current findings constitute about 70 percent of the overall analysis, with the remaining 30 percent still pending from the Central Forensic Science Laboratory in Hyderabad. Despite the recovered clothes and shoes being cleaned, the luminol test, which detects trace amounts of blood not visible to the naked eye, revealed blood stains on these items. The test also confirmed the presence of the victim’s blood on a rope, wooden sticks, and the vehicle used for disposing of the body at the Summanahalli stormwater drain.
Implications for the Case
The police have gathered over 200 crucial pieces of evidence, which are expected to strengthen the prosecution’s case and make it challenging for the 17 accused to secure bail. The postmortem report corroborates the forensic findings, indicating that the victim died from shock and hemorrhage caused by multiple blunt force injuries.
Conclusion
The ongoing investigation and forensic analysis are likely to play a pivotal role in the unfolding of the Renukaswamy murder case. The additional evidence and the detailed forensic report will significantly influence the legal proceedings and the fate of the accused, including the prominent actor involved.
