Four Accused in Renukaswamy Murder Case Transferred to Tumakuru Jail

Jail

Bengaluru: Four accused in  Renukaswamy’s murder case who are now behind bars were shifted to Tumakuru jail on Wednesday. Actor Darshan and his friend Pavithra Gowda are also accused in the murder case.

As per the orders of the Court in Bangalore, the accused – Ravishankar, Karthik, Keshav, and Nikhil – were transferred under tight police security to the District Prison in Rangapura near Oorukere, Tumakuru.

On June 24, the 24th ACMM Court had ordered the transfer of the four accused to Tumakuru jail. During the petition hearing, the lawyers representing the accused had objected to the transfer to Tumakuru jail.

However, SPP Prasanna Kumar explained to the court the necessity of transferring the accused. Subsequently, the court ordered to keep these four accused separately for security reasons. After the murder, Karthik, Keshav, and Nikhil had first surrendered to the police. These three had completely confessed about the murder to the police. This led to the arrest of Darshan and his associates. If they were to remain in the same jail, there is a possibility that they might fight among themselves, the advocate argued.
