Bengaluru: The CCB police arrested four including two women for allegedly blackmailing an MLA from North Karnataka of releasing his explicit video.
The police recovered a huge quantity of data from the residence of the main accused in Parappana Agrahara raising questions about a statewide honey trap network targeting politicians and officials.
The case was registered on November 23 at the city Cybercrime police station. The arrested include Raghavendra Alias Raghu, his friend Pushpa, Manjunath and his friend Pushpavati.
This gang was allegedly demanding Rs.10 crores from a BJP MLA.
According to the sources, Raghu had honey-trapped an MLA and started demanding Rs.50 crores. After the negotiation, it was brought down to Rs.10 crores.
“Arrest was made in Hubballi,” informed sources.
