Bengaluru: Bengaluru International Airport Limited (BIAL) said on Monday November 22 that Kempegowda International Airport in Bengaluru has commissioned a firefighting system Rosenbauer Tactical Simulator, making it the first facility in South Asia to have this high-tech equipment.

According to BIAL, the Rosenbauer Tactical Simulator, which provides numerous scenarios for firefighter at the Bengaluru airport as well as those from other airports, State Fire Departments, and Defence forces to prepare for real emergencies, will aid in the further strengthening of such capabilities.

According to the sources, the simulator has a cockpit that is identical to the Rosenbauer fire truck, providing a realistic experience in the operation of crash fire tenders, including all operating controls, from the steering wheel to turret control, projected on multiple 55-inch HD screens.

Firefighters can practise in a realistic setting with this simulator, mastering the tactical use of Rosenbauer Panther trucks and using High Reach Extendable Turrets (HRET) for extreme aircraft fire emergencies.

BIAL has added four advanced Rosenbauer Crash Fire Tenders (CFTs) to its service to ensure the safety and security of all stakeholders, including passengers and airlines. According to BIAL, the simulator provides incident commanders, crew commanders, and lead firefighters to obtain tactical experience with CFTs by practising turret control and firefighting agent application, command and control, vehicle operation, and basic driving and positioning skills.
