Bengaluru: The Special Investigation Team (SIT) investigating the journalist and activist Gauri Lankesh murder case is all set to file charge sheet against 17 accused in the case. According to the SIT sources, this second and final charge sheet is running into 4,000 pages. Amol Kale is named as accused no 1, while shooter Parashuram Vagmore is named as accused no.2.

According to the SIT sources, the first charge sheet of 650 pages was submitted to the court in May 2018. “This is the second and final charge sheet. If we arrest more accused and get more evidence, supplementary charge sheets will be submitted to the court of law,” informed officers.

“November 27 is the last date for the submission of the charge sheet under the Karnataka Control of Organised Crimes Act. So all efforts are done to file the second charge sheet at the earliest,” informed sources. The reason attributed to the murder plot is an ideological difference between the accused and the Gauri Lankesh.
