Bengaluru: Four unidentified men broke open a gold loan firm here on Friday and escaped with jewellery worth about Rs 2 crore in Jnana Bharathi police limits in the city.
Police sources said that a gang of four barged into the Manappuram Gold Loan office in Mariyammana Palya near PVP School around 4 pm with lethal weapons.
“The masked men had spread chilly powder all over the premises to misguide the dog squad. They also cleaned their fingerprints from the office furniture and doors. We have certain clues about the culprits”, said Labhu Ram, DCP West Division.
At the time of the robbery there only three employees, including a woman and there were no customers. None of the staffers pressed any panic button fearing for their lives as the men threatened them with daggers.
The police have launched a manhunt to nab the culprits.
