Bangalore : MLA and former minister CT Ravi has hurled a serious allegation that the government was trying to demoralise the Anti-Naxal Force by patronising criminals and completely failing to handle the Shringeri shoot-out case in the right way.
Speaking to reporters here, he said the government has stood support of the person who died in ANF firing while transporting cattle unauthorisedly.
Such incidents demoralise the ANF and in case there is a spurt in Naxal activities in Malnad region, then the government will be held responsible for it, he said.
He further said attempts were being made to project Kabeer who was killed in the shoot-out as innocent. He and his associates had several cases against them and were wanted by the police, Ravi said and opined that it was not proper on the part of the government to increase the compensation provided to the Kabeer family.
Ravi was also critical of the Congress leaders for condemning the shoot-out and defending Kabeer.
He further urged to withdraw the case registered against the ANF cop who shot dead Kabeer.
