Bengaluru: A 26-year-old bodybuilder and gym trainer allegedly died by suicide after his girlfriend informed him that her marriage had been fixed with another man. The incident came to light after family members found him hanging inside his room at his residence. Police have registered a case of unnatural death and begun an investigation, including examination of a death note reportedly recovered from the room.
The deceased has been identified as Kiran, who was working as a gym trainer and was known in local fitness circles. The incident has shocked residents in the neighbourhood and members of the fitness community who knew him.
Relationship of three years
According to preliminary police information, Kiran had been in a relationship with the woman for about three years. On Saturday, he reportedly met her and during the meeting she informed him that her engagement had been finalised with another person by her family.
Sources said the disclosure left him emotionally distressed. After the meeting, he returned home and appeared visibly upset, according to family members.
Investigators are recording statements from friends and relatives to understand the nature of the relationship and the events leading up to the incident.
Found hanging in locked room
Police said Kiran went into his room after returning home and locked the door from inside. When he did not come out for a long time and failed to respond to repeated calls, family members grew concerned.
After getting no response, they broke open the door and found him hanging. Emergency services were alerted, and police reached the spot soon after.
The body was shifted for post-mortem examination following inquest procedures. Officials said there were no immediate signs of external injury apart from those consistent with hanging, but final confirmation will depend on the autopsy report.
Death note recovered
During the spot inspection, police reportedly recovered a note believed to have been written by Kiran. Officials said the contents are being examined as part of the investigation and will be verified through handwriting and forensic checks if required.
Police said the note may provide insight into his mental state and the circumstances that led to the extreme step. However, officers cautioned that conclusions will be drawn only after full verification of evidence.
Digital evidence, including mobile phone data and recent communications, is also being reviewed.
Case registered, inquiry under way
A case of unnatural death has been registered at the jurisdictional police station. Officers are following standard procedure, including recording witness statements, verifying the timeline and analysing material evidence.
Police said they will also speak with the woman and other relevant persons as part of the inquiry. At this stage, no allegations of abetment have been officially confirmed, and the probe is continuing.
Mental health concerns highlighted
Officials and counsellors note that relationship distress can significantly affect emotional wellbeing, especially among young adults. They stressed the importance of timely emotional support and counselling when individuals show signs of severe distress.
Community members said Kiran was dedicated to fitness training and regularly interacted with clients and trainees. His sudden death has prompted messages of condolence from acquaintances and gym members.
Conclusion
The death of the young gym trainer has raised concern among family and friends, with police now examining the death note and other evidence to establish the full circumstances. Authorities have urged the public to seek help and counselling during emotional crises and not to suffer in silence.
