Bengaluru: Halasuru Police Station hogged the lime light on Friday for the wrong reason. Minister for Home Ramalinga Reddy has expressed displeasure over the lack of cleanliness at the station. As per the minister’s directions, Bengalury City Police Commissioner T. Suneel Kumar on Friday issued a notice to the Halasuru police station for being disorganised and unkempt.

The minister, who paid ‘surprise visits’ to four police stations in the east division including Cubbon Park, Ashok Nagar, Halasuru and Indiranagar police stations, accompanied by the City Police Commissioner, was allegedly irked to see the unwelcoming sight of dusty seized vehicles parked at the entrance of the Halasuru Police Station.

At the Cubbon Park police station, the minister examined the CCTV camera footage of 18 junctions including U.B. City, Queen’s Circle, Kumble Circle and M.G. Road. The minister was briefed about the CCTV monitoring by DCP Chandragupta.

The home minister checked records and attendance and went through station diaries before inquiring about the number and types of cases being registered. He instructed the inspectors to take action against goons, book cases against men who harassed students near schools and colleges, and ensure that pubs and liquor stores close on time.
