A 32-year-old domestic worker was brutally murdered in broad daylight in Gangondanahalli, sending shockwaves through the local community. The victim, identified as Firdous Banu, was allegedly attacked by a man who had been harassing her for months despite repeated warnings from her family.
Victim attacked while returning home
According to police, the incident occurred around 3:45 pm on Thursday as Banu was returning to her residence in the Aziz Shesh Industrial Area. She lived in a colony apartment with her husband, an auto driver, and their children.
Eyewitnesses reported that the accused, Hafeez, confronted Banu near 1st Cross, behind a school in Gangondanahalli. In a shocking turn of events, he allegedly stabbed her multiple times before fleeing the scene, leaving her critically injured.
Family alleges prolonged harassment
Banu’s sister stated in her complaint that Hafeez had been persistently following and harassing the victim for several months. Despite repeated warnings from the family, his behaviour reportedly continued, escalating into a fatal attack.
The incident has raised serious concerns about stalking and harassment, with locals questioning whether earlier intervention could have prevented the tragedy.
