Bengaluru: The Karnataka High Court, on Wednesday, ruled in favour of former state home minister K J George and two officials, Pranav Mohanty and M N Prasad by quashing the complaint against them in connection with the Deputy SP M K Ganapathi suicide case.
The HC heard the petition filed by K J George on Wednesday and quashed the complaint, as well as all the proceedings, in the case.
The judge hearing the case ruled that K J George and the other officials are innocent and added that the former minister was falsely implicated in the case.
It can be recalled that DySP Ganapathi, who was stationed in Mangaluru, was found hanging in a Madikeri lodge on July 7, 2016. Prior to his death, the DySp had he had accused the then minister K J George and other IPS officials of harassing him, during an interview with a TV news channel.
A case of unnatural death was registered and his son, Nehal alleged that his father took the extreme step due to the harassment he suffered at the hands of the higher officials and the minister.
The CBI and CID, last year, filed a B Report in the case, giving a clean chit to former Minister K.J. George.
