Hd Deve Gowda Former Pm

Bengaluru:  Former Prime Minister HD Deve Gowda has broken his silence over Prajwal Revanna’s alleged sex scandal and said he has no objection to the action taken against his grandson if he is found guilty.

Speaking to reporters here on Saturday, he refrained from making direct comments on the ongoing court cases involving his son, JD(S) MLA H D Revanna, who faces allegations of sexual harassment and kidnapping.

Gowda who turned 92, on Saturday, expressed reluctance to delve into the specifics of the cases, particularly regarding Revanna’s situation, citing legal proceedings. He echoed Kumaraswamy’s stance, who highlighted the importance of government action in accordance with the law to ensure justice for affected women.

“There are many individuals involved with these sexual abuse cases, and I prefer not to mention anyone specifically. Kumaraswamy has stated the importance of taking action against all those involved in this matter, ensuring justice and compensation for the affected women.”

While Gowda acknowledged the seriousness of the allegations against Prajwal Revanna, he hinted at perceived irregularities in the handling of the cases. He refrained to speak more on that issue, echoing his son Kumaraswamy’s statement that those who are involved and guilty in this case should not be spared.

Prajwal Revanna’s alleged scandal created a political storm and caused exchange of words between the ruling Congress party and NDA parties.

In response to allegations showing Deputy Chief Minister D K Shivakumar in the circulation of obscene videos allegedly involving Prajwal, Deve Gowda said Kumaraswamy would comment on that.
