Bengaluru: A 24-year-old woman allegedly died by suicide after her husband reportedly sent her videos and audio clips of his conversations with another woman, leaving her emotionally distressed. Police have registered a case of abetment of suicide against the husband and launched a search for him.
Husband allegedly sent videos of affair
The deceased, Sanika Gowda, had married Sharan Gowda, a native of Chikkamagaluru, nearly two years ago. Sharan works as a cab driver.
According to police, Sanika had been staying at her parents’ house in Rayasandra under the Parappana Agrahara police limits for postnatal care along with her seven-month-old baby.
During this period, Sharan allegedly sent Sanika several videos and audio recordings of his conversations with another woman with whom he was reportedly in a relationship. Police said the clips deeply disturbed Sanika and caused her severe emotional distress.
Woman allegedly took extreme step after video call
Investigators said Sanika reportedly made a video call to her husband shortly before taking the extreme step. She was later found hanging in a room at her parents’ house while her seven-month-old baby was present in the room.
Her body has been shifted for post-mortem examination.
Police register abetment case
Based on the complaint and preliminary investigation, the Parappana Agrahara police have registered a case of abetment of suicide against Sharan Gowda.
Police are searching for the accused and have launched an investigation to determine the circumstances surrounding the incident.
