II year completion after Covid detection in K’taka: Deaths cross 40k mark

Bengaluru: On this day of the year 2020, March 9, the State recorded the first Covid – 19 case in the City.  Ironically on March 8, the total deaths due to the Covid – 19 crossed the 40,000 mark.

With 8 new deaths, the total deaths due to Covid – 19 now has touched 40,004 in the State.

According to the data, till now 39,42,927 persons have tested positive in the State till March 8. Among them, 38,99,905 persons have been cured.

The first case was reported among a techie who returned from abroad.  He was cured within a week. Since then, the State is continuously reporting Covid – 19 cases.

One-day record for highest cases reported was on January 23 when the State recorded 50,210. One day highest deaths reported at the time of second wave (May 23, 2021) was 626 deaths

Till now 6.5 Crore tests have been carried out in the State.
