Bengaluru: In just two and half months the total count of people who have benefited from the ambitious Indira canteens set up by the state government in association with BBMP in Bengaluru has crossed 1 crore mark.
Presently 150 Indira canteens are operating in the Bengaluru city.
According to the data released by the BBMP, in 83 days time till November 6, 9 pm, 1 crore people have visited the Indira canteens and had food. AICC vice president Rahul Gandhi had inaugurated these canteens on August 16.
BBMP commissioner N Manjunath informed that these canteens will be opened in 15 wards which lack the same.
