Bengaluru: All India Congress Committee (AICC) president Rahul Gandhi is reportedly upset with the ministerial aspirants from Karnataka over the poor implementation of the membership drive scheme.
According to KPCC sources, recently, a few senior leaders met the AICC chief to discuss the cabinet expansion. At that time Rahul Gandhi is said to have expressed his displeasure over the style of functioning of the party’s state unit.
“In all other states, the party’s units were able to register more than 10 lakh members under the Shakthi scheme. But in Karnataka, it is less than 3 lakhs. In such a situation how can the leaders demand a ministerial post?” he questioned the leaders.
He also instructed the party leaders not to come to New Delhi and finalise the party’s decision in Bengaluru.
