Bengaluru: Mandya continues to witness tense situation following the murder of JDS leader T Prakash. Angry JDS activists attacked the houses of the two Congress leaders in Toppanahalli village of the Maddur taluk.
According to the Maddur police, the JDS activists allegedly pelted stones at the houses of Congress leaders in the wee hours of the Tuesday.
Meanwhile, the state home department sent 500 police personnel to Maddur taluk to maintain the law and order situation.
CM HD Kumaraswamy is expected to visit the town in by 3 pm and attend the final rites of the deceased leader.
Adding to the tension, relatives of deceased T Prakash are pressurizing the police to encounter the accused before the final rites of Prakash. They allege that the murder happened because of the failure of the intelligence department.
Prakash was killed when he was resting inside his car on Monday evening.
