Actor N. T. Rama Rao Jr. experienced a chaotic moment while attending the launch of a new centre at Krishna Institute of Medical Sciences (KIMS) Super Speciality Hospital in Bengaluru on March 8, when the formal ceremony briefly turned into a noisy fan gathering.
Thousands of enthusiastic fans had gathered at the hospital premises hoping to catch a glimpse of the popular Tollywood star. However, the excitement soon escalated, interrupting the actor while he was addressing the audience from the stage.
Videos from the event that have since gone viral on social media show the crowd chanting slogans and cheering loudly as the actor attempted to continue his speech.
Actor asks fans to remain quiet
During the programme, the constant cheering forced Jr NTR to pause midway through his speech. Visibly irritated by the interruptions, he addressed the crowd in Telugu and asked them to remain silent.
When the cheering continued, he repeated the instruction in English, saying firmly, “I said be quiet… be quiet.” The crowd eventually calmed down after his request, allowing him to continue with the programme. He then thanked the audience and resumed his address.
The large turnout also created logistical challenges at the venue. Several videos circulating online show fans pushing forward in an attempt to get closer to the stage. The sudden surge of people caused considerable disturbance within the hospital premises.
Security and police intervene
Security personnel accompanying the actor reportedly struggled to manage the growing crowd. At one point, an escalator inside the venue was also damaged as fans rushed towards the area where the actor was present.
Police personnel eventually intervened to control the situation and restore order at the venue.
During his speech, Jr NTR expressed deep respect for the medical community. Reflecting on his serious car accident in 2009, the actor spoke about the crucial role doctors played in his recovery.
On the professional front, the actor was last seen in War 2, marking his Bollywood debut. He is currently working on his next anticipated project titled Dragon.
