K’taka Govt likely to start classes for students between I and VIII from Sept 1

Bengaluru: The State Government is planning to start the classes for students between Std I and VIII from September 1.

“The classes for students between classes IX and XII will start from August 23. Based on the response we get, we are planning to start classes for students between Classes I and VIII,” explained Education Minister B. C. Nagesh.

“A final decision in this regard will be taken in a meeting which will be held on August 30. Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai will preside over this meeting,” he said.

“There is pressure from parents to re-start the classes. Even experts are also recommending us to start the classes,” he added.

It can be recalled here that schools in Karnataka are shut since March 2020 following Covid – 19 outbreak.
