Karnataka: Cybersecurity course to start in all degree colleges

Bengaluru: Cybersecurity course to be a compulsory subject in all degree colleges in the State from the next academic year, said Karnataka Higher Education Council Vice-Chairman Professor B. Thimmegowda

He was speaking at Cybersecurity Awareness Month Programme 2022, which was formally launched by Higher Education and Information Technology Minister Dr. C. N. Ashwath Narayan. He said that in spite of the existing Information and Technology and Computer Science courses the new cybersecurity course in the higher education sector will be introduced.

Minister Narayan said that as cyber crimes have become more rampant, it was important to include cybersecurity courses in the curriculum of non-technical students as well, said Minister Dr. Ashwath Narayan
