Bengaluru: In a significant move, the Karnataka government has directed a CID investigation into incidents of prenatal sex determination and murder reported across diverse districts of the state.
This decision stems from the Chief Minister‘s recommendation to Home Minister Dr. G. Parameshwara to entrust the investigation to the CID, conveyed during a telephonic discussion.
In regions like Mandya, Mysore, Ramnagar, and more, there have been over 1,000 reported cases of female foeticide. Recently, the Byappanahalli police arrested nine individuals in connection with these incidents.
