Karnataka: ‘Illegal immigrants should be repatriated’

Bengaluru: Home Minister Araga Jnanendra on Wednesday August 10 stressed on repatriating overstaying foreigners and illegal immigrants in the interest of national security.

According to a release issued by Minister’s office, he stated the same during a meeting with senior police officials. Minister stated, “Illegal immigrants overstaying in the country even after their visa term expires need to be expatriated as they can pose a threat to national security.”

Director General of Police Praveen Sood apprised the minister about the need to expand the capacity of the existing detention centres for foreigners, the release added.
