Bengaluru: Karnataka has been ranked second in the Prime Minister’s Bharatiya Jan Aushadhi scheme and the government plans to open 540 more stores throughout the State, said Health Minister Dr. K. Sudhakar.
Since the scheme’s inception, over 1,052 shops have been opened.
The pharmaceuticals and medical devices bureau of India has received a request from the Health Department that asks for the opening of 500 new stores in the State and about 40 new stores in government hospitals. In State, 300 new stores have opened since February 2022.
