Kolar: Congress MLC M. L. Anil Kumar has said that Kumaraswamy is not the first one who waived interest on farmers’ loans.

Speaking to mediapersons at Pathrakarthara Bhavan here on Wednesday November 23, he was reacting to Kumaraswamy’s remarks during the JD (S) Pancharathna Yatra, which concluded its five-day tour in the District. Former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh had waived off the interest of the country’s farmers first. “When Siddaramaiah was the Chief Minister, Rs. 50,000 was given to farmers. The loan was waived off. The Congress party has a stake in the interest waiver scheme done by Kumaraswamy, who came to power with the support of the Congress, he said, adding that the JD (S) and Kumaraswamy should apologise to these sections for not giving power to Dalits, Minorities and Backward Classes when they were in power in the past. Is there no sense of guilt for this mistake committed in the past?” he asked.

Blaming Kumaraswamy for not carrying out the land acquisition process when he was the Chief Minister, he said Kumaraswamy, who has no concern for the people of Kolar and Chikkaballapura Districts, sheds crocodile tears whenever he visits these Districts.

Replying to a question, he said it was not the gathbandhan that was done in the previous Lok Sabha elections, but Congress’ strong hold. And if there was at least one record of Congressmen working for the BJP, Kumaraswamy’s allegations would not have been necessary foe the Congress high command would have expelled them from the party before hand.
