Kolar: A techie in his 30s is suspected to have drowned his two-year-old daughter in Kendatti Lake in the District before taking his own life. The deceased, identified as Rahul, hailed from Bagalur. The body of the girl was recovered by fire and emergency service officers. A search is on for the man’s body.
Kolar SP D. Devaraj informed that locals were suspicious after spotting a car parked near the lake since Tuesday night. He said that Rahul had made a police complaint alleging that burglars had stolen gold jewellery from his home.
However, it was found after further investigation that Rahul himself had pledged the ornaments. Rahul reportedly received a summons from the police for an inquiry. However, according to sources, he is accused of killing his daughter and taking his own life before the inquiry.
