Kolar: Congress Legislature Party Leader Siddaramaiah ended the speculations over constituency on Monday January 9 and announced that he would contest the 2023 State Assembly elections from Kolar. He made the announcement at a mega rally held by Congress.
Siddaramaiah took the stage and made the announcement in the presence of Veteran Party Leader K. H. Muniyappa and Srinivasapura MLA Ramesh Kumar.
Siddaramaiah said that ‘My decision will be subject to the High Command’s approval’.
In the last Assembly elections of 2018, he had sacrificed Varuna Constituency for his son and contested from Chamundeshwari and Badami Constituency and lost in Chamundeshwari Constituency. Siddaramaiah, who is currently heading towards Kolar, has indirectly said that he will contest from there this time.
“Your love and admiration cannot be ignored. I have decided to contest from Kolar and I would be ready to contest from Kolar if the High Command indicates,” he said.
