Bengaluru: The Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee (KPCC) on Friday revoked the suspension of Mari Gowda, the close aide of Chief Minister Siddaramaiah.
In a release, N S Bosaraju, general secretary, KPCC, said the suspension of Mari Gowda was revoked with immediate effect as per the direction of KPCC president. “Mari Gowda was suspended due to some reasons. The KPCC has revoked Gowda’s suspension with immediate effect,’’ Bosaraju said.
It may be recalled the KPCC had suspended Mari Gowda on August 9 for abusing the then Deputy Commissioner of Mysuru C Shikha in public view after she failed to carry out his orders. Consequently, Shikha lodged a police complaint against Gowda.
He was on the run for two weeks and eventually surrendered to the police after failing to secure a bail in connection with the case. He suffered a setback when the court refused to grant him bail. He was remanded in judicial custody till August 16. The Mysuru District and Sessions Court granted bail to Mari Gowda on August 25.
