Bengaluru: The State Government is likely to transfer the majority of Deputy Commissioners (DC), Superintendent of Police (SPs) and the Commissioner of Police (CoPs) of major cities. The idea is to get ready for the 2023 election.
If sources are to be believed, Bengaluru City is also likely to get a new Commissioner of Police (CoP). Present CoP Kamal Pant is serving for the last 20 months and his latest tough stand against fascist forces has not gone down well with the ruling BJP.
B. Dayanand and Alok Kumar are in the race for the City CoP post.
According to sources, BJP is planning to bring pro-party officers to key posts in the districts to help the party to prepare for the next Assembly election.
“A final decision likely to be taken after a meeting between party leaders and the legislators by this weekend,” explained a BJP leader.
