Bengaluru: The Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) has unsealed Mantri Square Mall on the night of Friday December 10, nearly five days after the Karnataka High Court’s intervention.
The mall was sealed due to non-payment of a property tax of Rs. 39.49 crore. According to sources, the mall’s management has paid a Rs. 4 crore security deposit to the BBMP on the court’s orders, which will be returned when it hands over a Rs. 2 crore demand draft by Monday December 13 and the case will be heard again for further consideration.
The mall had already been closed for the same reason over a month ago. Mantri Mall and the nearby Mantri Greens apartment had already been in trouble for encroaching on BBMP land.
