Bengaluru: Following to the emergence of a new strain of the virus and reports of Covid cases at three educational institutions in the State this week, Karnataka Health Minister Dr. K. Sudhakar urged people to get a second dose of the Covid – 19 vaccine on Saturday November 27.
According to sources, the Minister stated that an alert has been issued about the emergence of a new strain of the Covid-19 virus. “Those who have not received the second dose of the vaccine must take it and all those eligible for vaccines must take their shots,” he added.
He informed that approximately 45 lakh people are yet to receive the second dosage of the vaccination.
On Saturday evening, Health Department officials and a technical advisory team will meet with Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai to discuss measures to prepare for a possible third wave of the pandemic in the State.
