K’taka urges ban on S African, Hongkong, Botswana visitors

Bengaluru: “Union Government has been requested to ban travellers from countries, South Africa, Hongkong and Botswana,” said Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai.

Speaking to mediapersons here on Sunday November 28, Bommai said that the ban has been sought keeping mind the detection of the new variant of Covid – 19, Omicron. The nation’s of Europe have imposed restrictions, while World Health Organisation has expressed concern over the variant, he stressed.

Stating that he has learnt that the variant is a super spreader, and hence are country is on alert, he added.
