Bengaluru:Karnataka Minister H.D. Kumarswamy has responded sharply to former Chief Minister Siddaramaiah’s calls for his resignation, questioning Siddaramaiah’s moral authority to criticise the BJP government and Prime Minister Modi. Kumarswamy cited alleged irregularities during Siddaramaiah’s tenure, including the mishandling of police cases and shielding corrupt officials.

The exchange intensified after Kumarswamy announced plans to release documents purportedly exposing misconduct in Siddaramaiah’s administration. This back-and-forth has escalated tensions between Karnataka’s ruling BJP and opposition Congress, with both parties rallying their supporters. Congress leaders have come to Siddaramaiah’s defence, while BJP members have accused Siddaramaiah of hypocrisy.

The potential release of these documents could have significant political ramifications, influencing strategies ahead of upcoming elections and shaping public perception. The ongoing rivalry underscores the heated political climate in Karnataka, making future developments critical to watch.
