Bengaluru: Kusuma Ravi, wife of IAS officer Late DK Ravi, who committed suicide on March 16, 2015 at his residence in Koramangala will join the Congress today.
She is likely to get Congress ticket for RR Nagar by-election.
KPCC president DK Shivakumar will induct her into the party fold, at 11 am today in a simple ceremony.
Her father Hanumantarappa has a strong hold on this constituency. Kusuma Ravi is expecting an easy win as she is from Vokkaliga community and has the support of DKShi brothers.
RR Nagar constituency has huge population of the Muslims and the Vokkaligas and the two have been playing a decisive role in the polls.
Muniratna, a former Congress leader, who was not a Vokkaliga too had registered victory because he has the support of DK Shi. However, this time DKShi wants to teach him a lesson as he joined the BJP.
