Speaking after a cabinet meeting, Patil stressed that the  Shamiyana erected  in front of  the police station was not intended for secretive interrogations but for additional staff convenience.

When questioned about the presence of a curtain at the station where Darshan was held, Patil stated that he had no prior knowledge of such arrangements and reiterated that no special privileges would be granted to any accused under legal proceedings. He assured that there would be no deviation from following standard procedures and emphasized that creating exceptional facilities for an accused individual is not permissible under law.
