Leeladhar Baikampady to be conferred with Aryabhata International award

Bengaluru: Leeladhar Baikampady, a non-resident Kannadiga who has contributed in various fields like land & language, literature, culture, charity, youth organizer in Bahrain has been unanimously chosen for the coveted ‘Aryabhata International award for his selfless and continual contributions to the diversified fields.

The award distribution ceremony will be held on August 9 at Bengaluru Ravindra Kala Kshetra at the presidentship of Aryabhata cultural organisation president Dr H L N Rao.

Having worked in Bahrain for the last 17 years, Leeladhar is basically from Baikampady and has been living in Mumbai from last several years.

Born to Late V D Mendon and Janaki Mendon, Leeladhar starting from very early age, he has engaged himself in serving the society and humanity through his multidimensional activities in undivided South Kanara, Bangalore, Mumbai and in the Kingdom of Bahrain.

His invaluable contributions to the multiple fields are assessed on the basis of numerous activities and exemplary services carried out by him on his own capacity and by getting involved in various associations based in different locations in India and abroad.

A finance manager by profession, Leeladhar Baikampady has been living in the Kingdom of Bahrain from the past 16 years and involved in the activities of various associations in Bahrain, Mumbai, Bangalore and Undivided South Kanara. He also serves the society in his individual capacity and through family foundation.

He has been well-recognized as a youth activist, youth organizer, social & charity activist, writer, award winning stage artist, progressive thinker and a dynamic youth leader.

He has been conferred with three national awards in a year, Rashtriya Bhushan award, Rashtriya Yektha award and Samaja Ratna and became the first non-resident Kannadiga to get these awards.

Justice Dr M Rama Jois, Nadoja Dr Mahesh Joshi, B J Jyothiprakash Mirji and Ravi Hegde will be honouring with Aryabhata International award to Leeladhar at the 40th Aryabhata cultural fest.
