Bengaluru: Karnataka State Legal Services Authority (KSLSA) Executive Chairman Justice B. Veerappa said that over 3 lakh cases were resolved through Lok Adalat, and compensation to the tune of Rs. 910 Crore was awarded. The adalat was held on Saturday March 12.
KSLSA released case details and the statistics including pending cases about 3,48,091 and 18,098 pre-litigation cases. For the first time in the history of the State, the cases pending before Karnataka Real Estate Regulatory Authority, and Real Estate Appellate Authority too were taken up for disposal. A total of 183 cases were disposed off and Rs. 8 Crore has been paid as compensation.
Similarly, cases pertaining to the Karnataka Electricity Regulatory Commission (KERC) were taken up for disposal and a total of 5,582 cases were disposed off. Further, the State legal authorities have been successful in reuniting more than 90 couples through reconciliation.
