Bengaluru: A businessman from Arasikere in Hassan, who hails from Pavagada in Tumakuru allegedly tried to commit suicide near CM BS Yediyurappa’s house in the RMV II stage by consuming poison. He has been admitted to a private hospital in the city. It is said that he resorted to taking this extreme step after he failed to meet the CM.
According to the police, the incident was reported on November 7. “But there was a delay in the registration of the First Information Report as he was very unwell,” said sources.
The man has been identified as Rangadhama. He alleged that he had borrowed over Rs.8 lakhs from a few people and was not able to repay as he sustained a huge loss in the business. Seeking help, he wanted to meet the CM. But as the CM was not there he tried to commit suicide by consuming poison.
According to the police sources, Rangadhama is now recuperating.
