Bengaluru: Tragedy struck as a 34-year-old man, identified as Chetan hailing from Andhra Pradesh, succumbed to his injuries at Victoria Hospital after jumping in front of a BMTC bus. BMTC officials are considering the incident as a case of suicide.
The unfortunate event occurred near Kamakspalya police station at 7:13 pm on February 14, when the man leaped in front of a bus en route from Majestic bus station to Janapriya apartments near Kadabgere road, bearing route number 242b/10.
CCTV footage provided by BMTC captured the moment when the individual ran towards the oncoming bus. Despite the driver’s swift reaction in applying brakes, the rear tire of the bus tragically passed over the victim’s left arm and leg.
Following the accident, Chetan was promptly rushed to a nearby Boss hospital for initial medical aid before being transferred to Victoria Hospital for further treatment.
Authorities have initiated an investigation into the incident, with the bus taken to Kamakshipalya Traffic Police Station for further examination. The circumstances surrounding the tragic event are being closely scrutinized as the investigation unfolds.
