Bengaluru: Minister for Bangalore Development and Town Planning K J George on Thursday visited Sarvagnanagar Assembly constituency and participated in various programmes including an interaction with the people.
The residents of Veerannapallya agreed to shift the existing temple and an old cemetery under the flyover to pave way for widening of the service road. This would enable smooth flow traffic in the area. Agriculture Minister Krishna Byregowda and local leaders were also present and appraised the minister about the problems faced by the people.
Later the minister inaugurated the rehabilitation and repair works of Machalibetta service station near Banaswadi Main Road at Maruthi Sevanagar. The cost of the project is Rs 1.55 crore. With the inauguration of this project, water supply in areas such as Maruthi Sevanagar, Sarvagnanagar, Kammanahalli, Benniganahalli, Lingarajapuram, HBR and Sagayapuram wards would be improved to a great extent. The minister also inspected the storage reservoir and exhorted the officials to maintain cleanliness.
On Banaswadi 80 ft road, the minister performed pooja for a Storm Water Drain (SWD) work and instructed the officials to maintain the quality of work and complete the work within stipulated period.
Later he visited his office in Banaswadi and distributed cheques to the beneficiaries of Stree Shakti group. He also interacted with the constituency people and heard their problems and directed the department officials concerned to redress their grievances at the earliest. He also participated in an interaction with Congress activists.
