A 13-year-old girl reported missing from RT Nagar was traced within two to three hours by city police and reunited with her parents.
According to police, the Class 7 student was dropped at school around 9 am on February 10 by her grandfather. When she did not return home after school hours, her father filed a missing complaint.
Swift police action
The family initially searched for the girl at the homes of friends and relatives. Following the complaint, police launched an immediate investigation, examining CCTV footage from the school premises and nearby areas.
Alerts were circulated across WhatsApp groups and to police stations across the city to expedite the search.
Traced at Commercial Street
Police later received information that the girl had been spotted on Commercial Street. Officers rushed to the location and safely took her into custody before handing her over to her parents.
Authorities said the girl did not disclose how she reached Commercial Street. Further inquiry is under way.
Police appreciated the swift coordination between patrol teams and the public, which helped ensure the minor’s safe return within hours.
