Bengaluru: A 15-year-old girl reported missing in Odisha was rescued by the Railway Protection Force (RPF) at Yelahanka railway station in Bengaluru after officers noticed her behaving suspiciously on the platform.
According to the RPF, a special team spotted the minor at around 10.20 am near the end of Platform No. 1 on Tuesday. Her nervous behaviour prompted personnel to approach and question her.

Officials said the girl appeared confused and anxious when the team approached her. During questioning, she revealed her identity and informed officers that she was a resident of Mayurbhanj district in Odisha.
She told the RPF that she had left her home last Saturday and reached Yelahanka three days later.
Kidnapping case registered in Odisha
After verifying her details, the RPF contacted the girl’s father, who is expected to travel to Bengaluru later this week.
Police in Rairangpur had earlier registered a kidnapping case under Section 137(2) based on a complaint filed by her father after she went missing.
However, during questioning by RPF officials, the teenager denied that she had been kidnapped, stating that she had left home on her own.
Counselling underway
The girl has been handed over to a child care home, where she is currently receiving counselling. Officials from the District Child Protection Unit said the exact reason behind her leaving home is still being investigated.
“We are still counselling her. The exact reason why she left her home is yet to be found out. The girl told us that she did it by mistake,” an official said.
Sources said the minor will be reunited with her family after the Child Welfare Committee (CWC) completes the necessary legal procedures and hearings.
Authorities said the case remains under investigation to establish the circumstances that led to the girl leaving her home
